BAU International University Batumi has officially opened its new university dental clinic, BAU Dental, which strengthens the clinical and educational infrastructure of the university. The clinic, which has been opened for service on the third and fourth floors of the academic campus, was designed for the purpose of bringing together practical training, the education of future dentists, and qualified oral and dental health services within the same facility. The opening of BAU Dental marks a new step in the university's efforts to support dental education with real clinical experience.

The new university dental clinic is equipped with the latest dental technologies. A sterilisation unit in compliance with international standards and a modern digital radiography system have been installed in the clinic. Bringing together specialists working in different fields of dentistry under the same roof, BAU Dental was designed as a centre where diagnosis, treatment, and clinical education processes will be carried out within a collaborative workflow. With the opening, a new environment has been created where students can directly observe the technologies and clinical operations used during their training.

The educational model of BAU Dental brings together practicing dentists, academic staff, and students within the same clinical structure. This setup allows students to develop the knowledge they acquire in academic courses through hands-on practice in a real patient environment. The university dental clinic supports students in closely following clinical processes, learning the working styles of different areas of expertise, and developing their professional skills under supervision. BAU International University Batumi's five-year Dentistry Programme, conducted in English, has a single-cycle educational structure consisting of 300 ECTS. The curriculum of the programme includes fields such as infection control and introduction to clinic, oral diagnostics and dental radiology, therapeutic dentistry, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, and prosthodontics. Clinical internships in the final year cover therapeutic dentistry, oral surgery, prosthetic dentistry, and dental clinic management. The opening of BAU Dental has contributed to addressing these clinical topics in the curriculum in a more integrated manner within the university's own infrastructure.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Georgian Dental Association, executive authorities, academics, and healthcare sector representatives. Participants highlighted the importance of the new clinic in terms of developing modern dental education and supporting access to quality dental services. The gathering of representatives from different institutions and the healthcare sector at the same ceremony allowed BAU Dental to be evaluated both in terms of academic education and clinical services.

With the opening of BAU Dental, BAU International University Batumi has combined theoretical knowledge, practical work, and clinical service in the same centre. Starting services with its digital radiography system, sterilisation infrastructure, and teams from different areas of expertise, the university dental clinic has created a new educational environment that supports students' professional development with real clinical experience.
