Official Recognition from Jordan for BAU International University Batumi’s Medicine and Dentistry Programmes

BAU International University Batumi announced a new development expanding its international academic recognition on 6 August 2026. By decision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Jordan, the university has been included in the list of foreign higher education institutions officially recognised by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The decision covers the single-stage Medical and Dental training programmes of BAU International University Batumi.

Thanks to this recognition, the diplomas of students graduating from these programmes can be recognised in accordance with the legislation in force in Jordan. Thus, for Jordanian students studying in the Medicine and Dentistry programmes of BAU International University Batumi, the post-graduation diploma recognition process has acquired an official framework. The inclusion of the university among the recognised foreign higher education institutions constitutes an important development that strengthens the link between the educational process and the students' post-graduation plans.

The Dentistry programme at BAU International University Batumi is run as a single-stage higher education programme. The programme, which consists of five academic years and 300 ECTS, is taught in English. The programme is completed with the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine and brings together clinical knowledge and practical dentistry skills within the same educational structure.

The university's clinical training infrastructure also expanded with a new investment in 2026. Opened in July, BAU Dental started operating on the third and fourth floors of the university's academic campus. The clinic offers an educational space that supports students in gaining hands-on experience in a real clinical environment, equipped with modern dental technologies, a digital radiography system, and a sterilisation unit complying with international standards. Academics, students, and specialists working in different fields of dentistry come together within the same clinical structure.

The Medicine programme is also among the core academic programmes of BAU International University Batumi. Run under a single-stage higher education model, the programme structures the educational process, extending from basic sciences to clinical courses, in different phases. The university's recent student mobility collaborations with international healthcare institutions, such as Inha University Hospital in South Korea, also expand opportunities for medical students to connect with different clinical systems.

The official recognition received from Jordan is a new step supporting the importance of BAU International University Batumi's Medicine and Dentistry programmes in terms of international student mobility. The fact that the decision covers both health programmes has strengthened the official foundation for diploma recognition, particularly for students who plan to continue their careers in Jordan after completing their education in Georgia.

The inclusion of BAU International University Batumi among the foreign higher education institutions recognised in Jordan stands out as an important development that adds a new country to the university's international connections in health sciences education, while linking the students' academic journeys with post-graduation processes.
