International Epilepsy Awareness Day Conference at BAU Batumi

On 10 February, a public conference was organised for BAU International University Batumi students as part of International Epilepsy Awareness Day.
International Epilepsy Day, commemorated every year, aims to raise awareness about epilepsy, reduce stigma, and emphasise the importance of supporting individuals living with this condition.
The session was delivered by neurologist Dr Natia Kharati, a faculty member at BAU International University Batumi. She informed students about the clinical features of epilepsy, current diagnostic and treatment methods, and basic first-aid practices.
Particular attention was drawn to addressing common misconceptions about the condition and the necessity of eliminating them.
The event aimed to increase students’ level of medical knowledge while also strengthening awareness of empathy and social responsibility; in this respect, it was fully aligned with BAU International University Batumi’s educational mission and priorities for social contribution.
